Job Description
1. Patient Assessment and Nursing Care
Conduct initial assessment and triage of patients for appropriate care.
Monitor vital signs and document patient conditions.
Provide wound care, dressing, and basic nursing interventions.
Administer medications as prescribed by the Medical Officer.
Educate patients and caregivers on treatment adherence, nutrition, hygiene, and preventive health.
Support management of chronic illnesses under guidance of Medical Officer.
2. Maternal, Child, and Reproductive Health Support
Assist Midwives in maternal and newborn care without performing deliveries independently.
Monitor postnatal mothers and newborns for general health and wellbeing.
Support immunization sessions and child growth monitoring.
Provide health education to mothers and caregivers under Midwife guidance.
3. Infection Prevention and Facility Management
Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols across the health post.
Maintain cleanliness of nursing areas, medical equipment, and supplies.
Support proper functioning and maintenance of medical and nursing equipment, reporting any issues for repair.
4. Referral and Emergency Support
Identify patients requiring referral to higher-level facilities.
Stabilize patients for transfer and provide necessary documentation.
Assist Medical Officers in emergency interventions and first-aid workers.
5. Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate patient records, treatment logs, and registers.
Record vital signs, follow-up observations, and patient outcomes.
Assist in daily, weekly, and monthly reporting as per organizational requirements.
Ensure patient confidentiality and proper data management.
6. Coordination with Health Team
Work collaboratively with Medical Assistants, Pharmacists, Midwives, and volunteers to ensure smooth service delivery.
Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and training sessions.
Mentor or support junior staff and health volunteers in basic nursing care.
7. Accountability and Safeguarding
Provide compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive care to all patients.
Uphold safeguarding standards, including Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), child protection, and gender equality.
Ensure patient confidentiality and ethical standards in all clinical practices.
Respond to patient and community feedback in a professional and accountable manner.
8. Any Other Duties
Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by the line manager or senior management that are in line with the role and organizational needs.
Experience
- 2 to 3 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO
Education
- Diploma in Nursing
Valid registration with the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC) is required.
Additional Requirements
- Age 25 to 40 years
Minimum 2–3 years of nursing experience in a clinical, community health, or primary care setting.
Experience in refugee camps, humanitarian health services, or primary healthcare preferred.
Exposure to maternal and child health care in support roles is desirable.
Strong knowledge of general nursing practices, patient care, and vital signs monitoring.
Familiarity with infection prevention, hygiene, and community health basics.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
Good communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills.
Computer literacy for documentation and reporting.
Ability to work in resource-limited and humanitarian settings.
