Assistant Engineer– Maintenance(Electrical)
Job Description
Electrical Maintenance
1. Perform preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance of batching
2. plants, mixers, conveyors, silos, compressors, generators, and other plant equipment.
3. Troubleshoot electrical faults and ensure minimum downtime of plant machinery.
4. Maintain electrical panels, MCCs, PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, and control systems.
5. Monitor and maintain transformers, generators, LT/HT electrical systems, and distribution networks.
6. Ensure proper calibration and functionality of weighing and batching control systems.
Plant Operations Support
1. Coordinate with production and operations teams to ensure smooth plant operation.
2. Attend emergency breakdowns and take immediate corrective actions.
3. Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
4. Assist in installation, commissioning, and modification of electrical equipment.
Safety & Compliance
1. Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and company policies.
2. Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to identify hazards and risks.
3. Implement Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintena3, nce activities.
4. Participate in safety drills, audits, and risk assessments.
Inventory & Documentation
1. Maintain records of maintenance activities, breakdown reports, and spare parts consumption.
2. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.
3. Monitor critical spare parts inventory and raise requisitions when required.
4. Maintain electrical drawings, manuals, and maintenance records.
Energy Management
1. Monitor power consumption and recommend energy-saving initiatives.
2. Ensure efficient utilization of generators and electrical equipment.
3. Analyze electrical performance data and propose cost-reduction measures.
Experience
- 2 to 5 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (FMCG), IT Enabled Service, Shipping, Food (Packaged)/Beverage, Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM), Group of Companies, Packaging Industry, Cement Industry, Steel
Education
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
Additional Requirements
- Age At least 28 years
Knowledge of PLC, VFD, MCC, motor control, and industrial automation.
Electrical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
Preventive and predictive maintenance planning.
Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance reporting.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
