Job Description

Duty Station: Dhaka, Bangladesh (with frequent field visits to project locations)

Reports To: Country Director

Job Summary

  • The Orphan Sponsorship Program (OSP) Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on the Orphan Sponsorship Program to ensure the holistic wellbeing, education, healthcare, and protection of sponsored children. The position requires strong coordination with caregivers, schools, community leaders, orphan care institutions, and relevant stakeholders while ensuring compliance with donor requirements, child safeguarding standards, and organizational policies.

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and monitor Orphan Sponsorship Program activities.

  • Prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly work plans and progress reports.

  • Coordinate beneficiary identification, verification, registration, and sponsorship allocation.

  • Maintain accurate beneficiary profiles, sponsorship records, and documentation.

  • Conduct household visits and periodic beneficiary verification.

  • Monitor children's education, health, nutrition, and overall wellbeing.

  • Ensure compliance with Child Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.

  • Identify and report safeguarding concerns and coordinate referrals where necessary.

  • Maintain regular communication with caregivers, schools, community leaders, and relevant government authorities.

  • Prepare quality reports, beneficiary success stories, photographs, and donor information.

  • Ensure timely implementation of activities within approved budgets and work plans.

  • Maintain the sponsorship database and ensure data accuracy.

  • Support donor visits, monitoring missions, audits, and evaluations.

  • Perform any other responsibilities assigned by management.

Experience

  • At least 3 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO

Education

    • Master of Social Science (MSS) in Social Work, Sociology, Development Studies, Public Administration, Anthropology
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Development Studies, Anthropology, Child Development, Public Administration, or any other relevant discipline from a recognized university.

Additional Requirements

  • Age At least 28 years
  • Only Female

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in child-focused development programs, orphan sponsorship, child protection, education, social welfare, or community development.

  • Experience working with national or international NGOs will be highly preferred.

  • Experience in beneficiary management, case management, sponsorship programs, or child protection will be considered an added advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of child rights, child protection, and child safeguarding principles.

  • Excellent project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting skills.

  • Experience in beneficiary identification, household assessment, and case documentation.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and community mobilization skills.

  • Ability to coordinate effectively with government agencies, schools, community leaders, and other stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Good report writing skills in both English and Bangla.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.

  • Willingness to travel extensively to project locations.
