Assistant Merchandiser (Woven)
Job Description
• Assist the Merchandiser in handling buyer communications and daily merchandising activities.
• Follow up on order confirmations, purchase orders (PO), and production schedules.
• Coordinate with the Sampling Department to ensure timely development and submission of samples (Fit, PP, Size Set, TOP, Shipment Sample, etc.)
• Prepare and maintain merchandising files, order sheets, T&A (Time & Action) calendars, and order status reports.
• Monitor fabric and trims sourcing, booking, and delivery to meet production deadlines.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely receipt of raw materials.
• Follow up with Production, Planning, Quality, and Store departments regarding order progress.
• Track production status and report any delays or issues to the Merchandiser/Management.
• Ensure all buyer comments and approvals are communicated to relevant departments.
• Assist in preparing costing sheets, consumption data, and order calculations as required.
• Maintain accurate records of sample approvals, lab dips, strike-offs, artwork, and technical documents.
• Coordinate shipment documentation with the Commercial and Logistics departments.
• Update ERP/MIS systems with order information and production progress.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly merchandising reports.
• Support compliance with buyer requirements, quality standards, and company policies.
• Maintain proper filing of buyer correspondence, technical packs, and production documents.
• Attend merchandising meetings and prepare meeting minutes when required.
• Follow up on corrective actions related to buyer comments or quality issues.
• Coordinate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure product specifications are met.
• Assist in resolving production and shipment-related issues promptly.
• Ensure confidentiality of buyer information and commercial data.
• Perform any other merchandising-related duties assigned by the Merchandising Manager or Management.
Experience
- 1 to 3 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Group of Companies, Woven Manufacturing
Education
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Engineering
