About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Team Lead – Backend Engineering (Node.js) to lead our backend engineering initiatives.

• This is a hands-on leadership role.

• You will be responsible for designing scalable backend architecture, mentoring developers, reviewing code, establishing engineering standards and working closely with product, frontend and QA teams to deliver high-quality software.

• You should enjoy both solving complex technical challenges and helping other engineers grow.

• Outstanding candidates who are not yet ready for the Team Lead position may be considered for Senior Backend Engineer roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the backend engineering team and provide technical leadership.

• Design scalable, secure and maintainable software architecture.

• Develop high-performance backend services using Node.js.

• Review code and maintain engineering best practices.

• Mentor and coach backend developers.

• Participate in architecture and technology decisions.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, QA Engineers and Frontend Developers.

• Optimize application performance, scalability and reliability.

• Ensure software quality through proper testing, documentation and code reviews.

• Identify technical risks and recommend effective solutions.

• Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes and development workflows.

• At least 7 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): IT Enabled Service

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science & Engineering

• B.Sc. in Computer Science & Engineering or a related discipline.

• Age At least 31 years

Experience

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.

• At least 2 years of technical leadership, mentoring, or Team Lead experience.

• Proven experience building scalable backend systems.

• Strong experience with Express.js and/or NestJS

• REST API design and development

• Authentication & Authorization (JWT, OAuth)

• WebSocket and Event-driven architecture

• AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Reverse Proxy (Nginx)

• Load Balancing

• Cloud Databases

• Monitoring & Logging

• Basic Kubernetes knowledge will be an advantage.
