Job Description

Context:

As an ophthalmologist, you`ll deal with a range of conditions, including eye surgery like cataracts, glaucoma, squints, eye injuries, and infectious eye diseases. You`ll attend to both the outpatient department & indoor eye patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and examine patients in order to make a diagnosis.

  • Perform ophthalmic surgeries.

  • Do occasional ward rounds (most ophthalmic patients have day surgery and don`t stay in hospital overnight).

  • Operate equipment such as ophthalmoscopes, slit lamps etc.

  • Provide advice and reassurance to patients and family members.

  • Educate patients to help them understand their medical condition.

  • Handle legal documentation for the certification of patients as blind or partially sighted.

  • Support health promotion and disease prevention activities Job Status/ Job Nature.

Experience

  • At least 2 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Hospital

Education

    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
  • FCPS/MS/DO
