Job Title: Video Editor (News Media)

Company Overview

We are a fast-growing digital news media company committed to delivering accurate, engaging, and timely news across multiple digital platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and our website. We are looking for a creative and experienced Video Editor to join our newsroom team.

Job Responsibilities

• Edit daily news videos, breaking news, interviews, documentaries, and feature stories.

• Create engaging short-form and long-form videos for social media platforms.

• Add motion graphics, lower thirds, captions, transitions, sound effects, and background music.

• Design eye-catching video intros, outros, and promotional clips.

• Color correct and enhance video quality for professional output.

• Synchronize audio and video while ensuring clear sound quality.

• Work closely with reporters, producers, and graphic designers to meet daily publishing deadlines.

• Optimize videos for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram Reels, and TikTok.

• Organize and manage video files and project archives.

• Stay updated with current video editing trends and social media best practices.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Media Studies, Journalism, Film, Multimedia, or a related field (preferred).

• Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in video editing for a news media organization.

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.

• Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Audition.

• Experience creating motion graphics and animated titles.

• Ability to edit under tight deadlines without compromising quality.

• Good understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition.

• Familiarity with social media video formats and platform requirements.

• Knowledge of copyright regulations and fair use policies.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends during breaking news coverage.

Preferred Skills

• Experience editing political, current affairs, or documentary content.

• Basic camera operation and videography knowledge.

• Experience with live streaming software (OBS, vMix, or similar) is an advantage.

• Knowledge of AI-powered video editing tools is a plus.
