Job Description
Production & Operations Management
- Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedule. Oversee all floor operations across printing (e.g., flexo, offset, rotogravure, or digital) and converting/finishing processes (e.g., die-cutting, lamination, corrugation, gluing).
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), machine utilization, and waste/scrap reduction.
- Manage workforce deployment, establish labor standards, and ensure optimal utilization of manpower on the factory floor. Lead the team to reduce operational lower total manufacturing costs.
Quality Assurance & Control
- Enforce quality management standards (e.g., ISO, QMS) to guarantee packaging integrity and compliance with client specifications.
- Implement strict quality checks to prevent and eliminate defects such as scumming, misregistration, color variations, pinholes, and coating issues.
- Conduct root-cause analyses for customer complaints and rejected batches; implement immediate CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) measures.
- Ensure strict adherence to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, especially regarding chemical handling (inks, solvents), noise control, and machine safety guards.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate production and maintenance staff; organize safety drills and skills development workshops.
Maintenance & Engineering
- Track and analyze equipment downtime, coordinate emergency repairs, and develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules, along with maintenance KPIs.
- Manage the spare parts inventory and collaborate with procurement to secure critical machine components, inks, and substrates without disrupting production.
- Supervise and manage the Maintenance & Engineering team by assigning work, monitoring daily performance, ensuring discipline, and maintaining effective workforce utilization.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver technical training, skill development, and cross-functional coaching programs to enhance employee competency and support succession planning.
- Monitor employee attendance, leave, overtime, shift scheduling, and manpower availability to ensure uninterrupted maintenance support for production operations.
Experience
- At least 10 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Design/Printing/Publishing, Packaging Industry
Education
- Bachelor/Honors
Bachelor`s degree in any discipline from a reputed university (Engineering background preferred).
Additional Requirements
- Age At most 40 years
10+ years of experience in publishing, printing, production, project management, or supply chain management, including at least two years of factory management experience.
Knowledge of print production processes, including Offset, Rotogravure, and Flexible packaging.
Demonstrated leadership experience in Pre-Press, Print Production, Project Management, or Supply Chain Management.
Ability to multitask and effectively utilize resources in a deadline-driven environment.
Excellent communication and negotiating skills.
Commitment to continuous process improvement initiatives and ability to solve problems creatively.
Strong analytical and computer skills (MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
