Job Description

·         When On Call, Specialists will be Resident in the Hospital.

·         Specialist will be Second ‘on call’ for all emergency calls. If the RMO feels it necessary.

·         He/she will call the Specialist at ER.

·         If the Specialist is available in the hospital, he/she should personally go to the Emergency along with the RMO to see the patient if there is any call.

·         Specialist will supervise the RMO in the management of the patients whether admitted from emergency or OPD.

·         Specialist will respond to the call from in-patient and will inform the Consultant about the outcome.

·         Specialist who is ‘on call’ on the day would make ‘evening rounds’ for all admitted patients after the official hours along with the RMO.

·         Specialist will make early morning round before the arrival of Consultant and his/her formal Morning Round.

·         Specialist will act as overall supervisor of the RMO.

·         Specialist will attend the calls from other departments requesting for General.

·         Surgical consultations for both in-patients and emergency and provide assistance.

·         During the routine surgical operative procedures, Specialist will assist the Consultant and in selective cases perform the operation if the Consultant agrees and delegates the responsibility to the Specialist.

·         In case of emergency operative procedures, if the Consultant agrees, Specialist will perform the operation.

·         On Week days Specialist would join the Consultant in daily morning rounds and will supervise the RMOs

·         On weekends/holidays, Specialist will stay in the hospital for the coverage.

·         Usually the Specialist will not have OPD consultation slots, but for any reason, if the Consultant assigns the Specialist for it then he/she (Specialist) may carry out that duty as long as the Consultant desires.

Experience

  • At least 1 year
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Hospital
  • Freshers are also encouraged to apply.

Education

MBBS degree along with a Postgraduate Degree (MD/FCPS) or Diploma in the relevant specialty, with a valid BM&DC registration.
