Job Description
Regulatory Compliance & Strategy Alignment
- Implement, monitor, and ensure absolute compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) plans, standard operating procedures, and local regulatory requirements at the site.
- Liaise closely with the Group OHS team to receive safety updates, corporate directives, and compliance baselines, ensuring their effective rollout and implementation across the plant.
Hazard Identification & Field Inspections
- Conduct routine, rigorous site inspections to actively identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and operational non-compliance, recommending immediate corrective actions.
- Monitor environmental and site safety setups, including housekeeping standards, waste management practices, access control measures, and plant traffic management.
- Perform regular safety inspections of heavy equipment, lifting tools and tackles, ladders, site vehicles, fire detection/protection systems, and machine guarding, reporting non-conformities for timely resolution.
High-Risk Activity Supervision
- Ensure rigorous implementation and total compliance with the site’s Permit-to-Work (PTW) system for all applicable hazardous activities.
- Directly supervise and monitor high-risk operations on-site, including work at height, lifting operations, confined space entry, excavation, hot work, electrical work, and energy isolation (LOTO).
- Verify the proper distribution, maintenance, and correct use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), strictly enforcing safety standards among employees, contractors, and visitors.
Incident Investigation & Capacity Building
- Support comprehensive incident and near-miss investigations, utilizing root-cause analysis tools to identify systemic vulnerabilities and following up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) through to closure.
- Develop and conduct mandatory safety inductions for newcomers, toolbox talks, targeted awareness programs, and technical safety training sessions.
Governance & Reporting
- Actively participate in daily, weekly, and monthly operational meetings, proactively raising field-level OHS concerns and presenting practical corrective recommendations.
- Maintain, organize, and continuously update all required OHS records, safety reports, lagging/leading statistics, permits, and legal compliance documentation.
Experience
- 2 to 6 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (Light Engineering and Heavy Industry), Chemical Industries, Cement Industry, Battery, Storage cell, Power, Fuel/Petroleum, Building & Construction Materials
Education
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Chemical Technical/Engineering
